First team @ Penllergaer
Too much quality for punchy Penllergaer.

After a very heated first match between these teams at Penygaer, this promised to be a heated encouter between two good footballing teams.

Penllergaer started very strong and instantly put pressure on the West End Defence. Ollie Noor was in commanding form as he held the defence together from the off. As it looked more likely that Penllergaer would break the deadlock, West End broke on the counter attack with Stu Hemingway and Nathan Lewis teaming up to play in Curtis Evans who made it 1-0. Penllergaer were still playing the better football for the next 10 minutes but again it was the same West End trio who were catching Penllergaer on the counter attack. Stu Hemingway got into the box and was fouled, Penalty! Hemingway steps up and calmly tucked the ball in to double West Ends lead. Penllergaer looked totally demoralised as they felt hard done by after playing the better football for the opening 20 minutes. West End Captain Rob Griffiths, Jack Sutcliffe and Leon Goddard were then instructed to play a bit deeper in Midfield and this seemed to be the turning point as West End started to take more control in Midfield. Nathan Lewis then converted a Penalty after he was fouled by a reckless challenge. Then all hell broke out as Leon Goddards tackle was slightly late but the reaction from Penllergaer was unjust as it started an almighty fracas between all players and supporters. The game restarted and in fairness to both sets of players there was no more trouble. Stu Hemingway doubled his tally just before half time after some fantastic work once again by Rob Griffiths. Half Time 4-0.

The Second Half started as it ended with Stu Hemingway scoring to complete his Hat-Trick. Stu Hemingway then bagged his fourth of the game after a horrendous throw in by Penllergaer but Hemingway was alert as he slotted in before being replaced by Matthew Ellis with the thought of next week West Wales Cup Game against Trostre Sports. Both West End Full Backs were playing well with Chris Evans and debutant Brandon Newman aiding Ollie Noor and Charlie Weston in Defence. Nathan Lewis then grabbed his second of the game and Rob Griffiths wrapping up the scoring after a clearance fell to him on the edge of the box and he drilled the ball home. Final Score 8-0.

Just what the doctor ordered as they say, a sub pleasing performance against Hendy last week was totally wipped out today with this solid and pleasing performance against a physical Penllergaer team. Trostre Sports up next in the west Wales Cup followed by FC Carmarthen away the week after. Two mouth watering challenges for a team who have now won all nine games this season.
