First Team V Penllergaer
Hot Headed Penllergaer hit for seven.

With three wins in the first three games West End hosted second in the table Penllergaer which promised to be a good test for the league leaders.

Penllergaer started the better of the two teams as they looked to break forward at every opportunity. With only 10 minutes played Penllergaer were down to ten men which was a result of a ferocious tackle from one of their defenders. Nathan Lewis then riffled the ball past the keeper from the free kick to make it 1-0. Shortly after Nathan Lewis made it 2-0 after a great cross from Curtis Evans, Lewis plucked the ball out of the air and blasted past the Penllergaer Goalkeeper. Penllergaer tried to get back into the game but West End Goalkeeper Ben Jones was in no mood to conceed as he pulled off some magnificent saves. Curtis Evans then made it 3-0 with a good finish and Nathan Lewis bagged his Hat-Trick as he scored from a resulting corner after good work by Glyn Lloyd and Stu Hemingway. Just before half time Penllergaer conceeded a fifth as Stu Hemingway went on one of his weaving runs to put the ball in. Half Time 5-0.

Leon Goddard came on to replace Jack Sutcliffe at half time and it wasnt long before Leon was causing problems for the Penllergaer defence as he played in Nathan Lewis for his fourth goal of the game. Penllergaer became ever more frustrated as their defenders started to commit rash tackles. Nathan Lewis was brought down near the box but Leon Goddards resulting free kick effort was saved well by the Penllergaer Goalkeeper. Matthew Ellis then replaced livewire Nathan Lewis and Ellis began to use his pace from out wide by beating three players only to be denied by the post. Rob Griffiths then came close as he saw his effort go wide off the post. Stu Hemingway then got taken down inside the box after some great individual magic, penalty! Up pops Leon Goddard who calmly slotted in to make it 7-0. A special mention also to West End centre halves Steve Preece and Ollie Noor who were outstanding on the night.

Kruf away on Saturday which will see West End trying to make it five out of five but tonight was a bold statement of intent by the boys in green!
