Second game of the season seen us travelling across Penygaer to play League newcomers Llanelli Park Rangers. West End were blessed with having a full strength squad so it would always be a difficult evening for LPR.

The game started with instant pressure from West End as the prolific Stu Hemingway opened the scoring, 7 minutes later Steve Preece got on the end of a Leon Goddard corner to head in number two. LPR looked depleated as Leon Goddards free kick got deflected in to make it 3 nil. The fourth was added shortly after as Curtis Evans skipped down the left, embarrassing the full back he finished with aplomb. Then with just half hour gone, Charlie Weston was clattered which resulted in a red card for both players, very unfortunate for Charlie. But the boys raleighed on and Lloyd Weston and Leon Goddard began to pull the strings in midfield. Great work again down the left from Curtis Evans who played a pin point pass through to Stu Hemingway who made it 5. Stu then grabbed his hat-trick as he netted just before half time. Half Time LPR 0-6 West End.

Curtis Bowen replaced Glyn Lloyd at half time and Curtis began to cause LPR some problems down the right as he played a big part in Curtis Evans second goal of the game making it 7-0. Brandon Newman then replaced Rob Griffiths and slotted in comfotably at left back. Curtis Evans then scored his third of the night after some great build up play by Stu Hemingway to make it 8-0. Steff Thomas then replaced Curtis Evans and he and Stu Hemingway linked up to set up Curtis Bowen for his first goal in green colours. The goal of the night though was saved for the last as Stu Hemingway took on three LPR players on the right played in an inch perfect cross for Steff Thomas who volleyed in from close range.

Great team performance by West End who were relentless in their quest for goals, next game will certainly be more difficult as we see Bancffosfelen visit Penygaer.
